The Little Red Hen

A little red hen once found a grain of wheat. "Who will plant this wheat?" she asked.

"Okay, then I'll do it," answered the little red hen. She planted the grain of wheat and soon the wheat began to grow. The sun shone on it, the rain fell, and the wheat grew tall and strong. "Now, who will reap (pick) this wheat?" asked the little red hen.

"Okay, then I'll do it," answered the little red hen. So she picked the wheat. "Now, who will take the wheat to the mill to have it ground?" asked the little red hen.

"Okay, then I'll do it," answered the little red hen. So she took the wheat to the mill to have it ground, and came back with flour for making bread. "Now, who will bake the bread," asked the little red hen.

"Okay, then I'll do it," answered the little red hen. So with the flour she baked a loaf of bread. "Now, who will eat this bread?" asked the little red hen.

"No, I will," answered the little red hen. And she ate up the whole loaf of bread.
