Answering Machine Messages

This listening exercise requires Real Player.

Directions

1. Listen to 7 messages. Do not choose people who speak your native language.
Remember, this is a listening exercise.
Do not look at any written material with your classmates' names.

2. For each message, write down:

a) First & Last Name
b) Phone Number
c) Did the caller follow the pattern? yes or no
d) Quality of the Message

Example:
a) Mary Jones
b) 875-903-2956
c) No, she didn't repeat her phone number.
d) It was difficult to understand, too fast, too slow.

3. Explain how you would change your own message.

4. E-mail the list of names & your comments to the teacher: eva@evaeaston.com
Put your full name & Speech 003 in the message line of the e-mail.
No one will read your e-mail except the teacher. The e-mails will not be shown in class.

Deadline: Please send your e-mail no later than Friday evening.
